Join Luke Cannon in this illuminating and exciting two day workshop! In this class students will soar you deep into the world of birds and bird language. We will utilize fun and engaging walks, talks, and group activities, to explore the revealing world of birds and bird language.
The study of "Bird Language" goes well beyond just learning which birds sing which songs. Bird Language gives us a framework for interpreting the vocalizations and behaviors of song birds, including birds we don't even recognize. This framework then expands are understanding and awareness of both the behavior of the bird immediately before us and what's happening across the greater landscape all around us.
You will leave this workshop with an understanding of the most common types of bird vocalizations and behaviors, how to interpret there meanings on the landscape when you observe them and an amazing new awareness of the conversations that have been happening around you your whole life.
Focus topics include: understanding common vocalizations and behavior patterns and what they tell you about the landscape, identification through song, habitat and behavior, best strategies for getting to know the birds of your area, keystone species and more!
You'll walk away with a much deeper understanding, curiosity and awareness of the birds and world around you everyday!
