Fire & Flint Workshop

Step back into the stone age and work with your hands to create the most essential human tools — cutting edges and fire. In this immersive class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of flint knapping: shaping stone into usable blades, scrapers, and arrowheads. We’ll then shift into the art of friction fire, where you’ll carve, shape, and coax flame from wood using ancestral techniques. This class is both meditative and empowering — a reminder of how capable and connected we can be when we slow down, observe, and work with the earth’s raw materials.

Logistics:

Location: Barnardsville NC (about 30 minutes North of Asheville) The exact class location will be emailed to you after tickets are purchased

Hours: Students are welcome to arrive on Friday May 22nd at 9am We will promptly start class at 10am. Class will be done by 3pm on Sunday afternooon.

Camping: Students are welcome to camp at our 20 acre site for Friday and Saturday night. Students are responsible for their own camping gear. If you do not wish to camp, there are several rentals and hotels in both Barnardsville and Weaverville.

On site accomodations: Refrigeration and a propane burner kitchen will be provided for students. No showers will be provided.

Food: Students are responsible for their own food for this class but there will be some sharing of wild meats for students to supplement their own food with.

Tuition:

• Early bird ticket: $375 (Before April 1st)

• Regular ticket: $475 (After April 1st)

• both tickets includes on site camping.

Please bring: camping gear (tents, sleeping bags, cutlery, rain gear etc), water, journal, camp chair, personal food

What not to bring: Please leave your firearms, alcohol, drugs, and dogs at home.
