Fire with sticks: Intro to friction fire

  • Holisitic Survival School 38 McDaris Cove Road Weaverville, NC, 28787 United States (map)

Haven't you always wanted to learn how to make fire from sticks?  Here is your chance! Not only is fire the essential human and survival skill, it is also really fun! Join Luke McLaughlin (Founder of Holistic Survival School and star of Discovery Channel's "Naked and Afraid: XL") in learning the ancient art of friction fire.

In this all day class students will be able to learn the basics of fire by friction while also getting hands on experience with multiple fire-starting methods (bow drill, hand drill, fire saw, flint and steel). Other topics will include: what local types of woods to use, life lessons that fire can teach us, troubleshooting, and additional fire making options.
